Workplace health and safety
Workplace musculoskeletal disorders are a recognised risk for sonographers. There are also social and emotional pressures associated with the essential diagnostic work that sonographers undertake.
The ASA has several initiatives to support the health, safety and wellbeing of sonographer in their work, such as best practice guidelines, webinars, and other resources to promote healthy and safe practice.
The ASA also conducts workplace health and safety research on sonographer workplace injuries to help inform the development of resources to address workplace health and safety issues.
