ASA Board
The Australasian Sonographers Association Board is made up of seven elected member directors and three appointed non-executive directors. The ASA relies on its board to set strategic goals, supervise operational aspects, and safeguard members' interests. The board formulates policies, assesses industry challenges, and ensures adherence to professional standards. It appoints leadership, monitors financial health, and promotes transparency, playing a pivotal role in advancing the association's mission for the benefit of sonographers and the sonography profession.
The ASA is a registered charity and our corporate structure is a company limited by guarantee (CLG) and is governed by a Board of Directors.
The ASA's Board of Directors consists of:

Up to seven member directors who are elected by Accredited Medical Sonographer members

three non-executive directors with complementary skill sets who are appointed by the Board

a president and vice-president, also appointed by the Board of Directors.
Director terms are for three years, with a maximum of three successive terms.
