Soundeffects News, released biannually, focuses on themes relevant to sonographers, featuring interviews with experts, industry reports, and highlights from the Annual International Conference, providing members with valuable insights and updates.

The ASA publishes the scientific journal Sonography as part of our commitment to ensure research is undertaken to provide an evidence base that supports the development of the profession. It is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles on all aspects of sonography from authors around the world.

Author guidelines
We invite authors to submit articles relating to all aspects of the sonography profession for publication. These may include, but are not limited to:

Clinical scanning specialties e.g. abdomen and chest, breast, cardiac, musculoskeletal, obstetric, gynaecological, paediatric, small parts and vascular sonography.

Non-clinical elements and workforce issues such as sonographer education and training, sonographer health and wellbeing.

Manuscripts may take the form of original articles, review articles, case report and series, resource reviews, editorial, letters to the editor and education articles outlining new techniques and equipment. Manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by our peer-review panel of experts.

Submit online
All manuscripts are to be submitted and processed online. To submit your manuscript for Sonography go to the Research Exchange submission portal and follow the instructions to upload the article and images.
